Er, double that number and you may be about there. That's what some of the aid agencies say now they are actually allowed into Burma. Some people also say the army dictatorship may be taking some bodies to reduce the official death toll. VERY twisted.

The reports are indeed becoming more depressing by the hour. With most disasters like this the casualty estimates tend to go up exponentially over time, and only rarely are they brought down again in the end...
