Scott vs Shackleton

Regular readers of the blog will know that when we discuss the exploration of the Antarctic, we always stress the tremendous story of Sir Ernest Shackleton's 1914 expedition to the South Pole, and the story of the James Caird. For more on this, visit the Shackleton page of GeographyPages.

The BBC News Magazine has an interesting comparison of Scott and Shackleton, and a vote is underway as to who was the greatest.

At the moment it's gratifying to see that with over 14 000 votes cast, "The Boss" is well in the lead.
