They think it's all over.... It is now....

So - that was the exam.
What I found interesting was the absence of the usual questions where candidates were asked to define the FUGIS terms.
We seemed to do quite well at spotting the possible questions - an interesting poster task on organic farming was a bit of a surprise: I hope that you didn't spend too long on it...
Please add a comment below to let me know what you thought about the exam, and if there was anything you thought you weren't really ready or prepared for ?

I did the higher paper not the foundation so I didn't do the poster but yeah it was okay. I ran out of space actually as I filled up the back page.

I though that there were some ambiguous questions though on Gloucester Docks but overall it was fine.... GCSE's all over for year 10!

Which questions were a bit ambiguous - can you remember ?
You'll have another chance to have a look at the paper next lesson, but we'll be moving on to planning what comes next !

Can't fully remember but it was something to do with the housing in Gloucester. The only other real tricky question was the one about housing, shops, restaurant etc. and how their land use will conflict with each other

Yes - that wasn't one we'd looked at directly, but whenever you have any development which has more than one use there are issues: for example the noise of the pubs affecting people in flats above them...

I said some things like that but I wasn't really sure. I said things like the noise of the pubs and the possiblity of drunks disturbing local homeowners. The organic farming and extreme environment questions were pretty easy though

Sounds good !

Anyone else other than Daniel want to add a comment ?

i did the higher paper on monday and although i revised FUGIS like there was no tomorrow it didnt come up in the exam although it was helpful with the 10 mark questions

Yes - it was annoying that it didn't come up as a separate question, but I'm glad you realised that you couldn't get full marks on the longer questions without really referring to the various aspects of FUGIS

I found the higher paper tough but with fairly predictable questions. However i did struggle on the longer questions as i found that i coundn't quite concentrate on them nearer the end of the exam.

The key thing was that you kept going. The invigilators said almost everyone was working right to the end, which is usually a good sign!
Better than wasting half an hour because they've 'finished'...
Fortunately that's the only exam, and it's shorter than the 3 and a quarter hours we had with the old specification.
