errrm i would put that futures means what is the future for a place and what will happen.futures means the predictions and new trends and what are the consequences of those trends

A reasonable starting point, but if you are defining what 'futures' are you shouldn't use the word 'futures'.
For example if you were asked to explain what a banana was and you said 'it's a banana' that wouldn't be very helpful...
So what do you mean by futures ?
What are the trends that can be studied ?
Which futures have you looked at ?

The term "futures" means looking at the possibilities of our actions and the consquences on the people and the environment.

Futures - Ideas about a possible future, ideas abuot the consequences of our actions and what they could lead to - what will happen, and what might happen.

Don't forget to add first name, so I can make sure I reply to each comment individually and know who has sent me an answer...
Remember that futures is related to a possible...
And remember that today is a gift, because it is the present....
